About the shop: The Walrus & The Carpenter is a two-woman shop. I (Giao (Zow)) run the shop, and my mom, Hoa, kicks butt in helping me build it with her incomparable expertise and skill. We're both lifelong crafters whose super-resourceful parents instilled the drive to rework and recycle and to DIY whenever possible. Hoa is a professional seamstress of more than 35 years, and Giao is certified in graphic design by the Illinois Institute of Art.
About the shop's name: "The Walrus & The Carpenter" has long been a favorite poem of mine since we sang a musical version of it in high school choir. Strange, but true. Lewis Carroll's verses inspire a magical feeling that inspire me to make things. Also strange and also true. Think of me as the walrus and Hoa as the carpenter.
About the shop's aim: My goal with The Walrus & The Carpenter is to create one-of-a-kind goodies for people who revel in not completely blending into the background. Nothing too radical goes on here, but unique goodies are always the aim. Thank you for the opportunity to try our hands at our own looking-glass magic (we're still cube-farming days).
If you have any requests for custom designed/created products, please feel free to drop us an email.
Thanks much for visiting The Walrus & The Carpenter today!
